Meet The Big "O"

 process

Keith was born December 4th, 1959 in Flint Michigan.  At age nine his parents divorced and he was immediately labeled as "High Risk" and treated accordingly.  Keith, "The Big O", loved sports and became the captain of his freshman football team in high school. He an honor roll student and was flourishing as a trumpet player and singer.  His future looked extremely bright until he got involved with the wrong crowd and started making terrible decisions.

Keith started hanging out with the wrong crowds, drinking and doing drugs, and skipping school.  Life at home started getting worse and worse as the conflict with both of his parents intensified.  Ultimately he ran away from home to do things his own way.  He went from being a student of great potential to getting married, being a teenage father, and living on welfare.  Keith went on to gain over 300lbs which caused many emotional problems as well as health related issues.  In Short, Keith, like millions of students in America, didn't "Protect His Potential."

After years of struggle Keith began making better decisions and life began to change.  He got his education, allowed mentors to nurture his potential, and lost over 240lbs to date.  Today he is the Director of RestorationNET and is considered one of our nations best known youth communicators.

For over 25 years "He has carried a sincere vision and burden for the youth of America and a specific plan to reach them. His many years of experience as a youth communicator has provided him a depth of insight on how to effectively reach today's students. Also, Keith's unique humor and excellent assembly presentations coupled with his extraordinary trumpet and singing ability have made him a sought-after speaker to the youth of America as well as to the world.

Keith, “The Big O”, is also considered a leading advocate for youth in his community.  He (“The Big O”) is well recognized for his efforts to develop student programs and events like:

  • Party 4 Life, an area New Year's Eve program that continues to draw as many as 2000 high school and middle school students each year.
  • The Positive Action Award that partnered with McDonalds to reward Students for achieving academically and for doing good deeds that positively impact the people of their community.
  • Mentorship programs and homework support programs to assist students in need of guidance.
  • A.S.A.P. (Area Students Against Prejudice), to advocate acceptance and tolerance within youth culture.
  • Parent involvement programs to assist the academic needs of students and the character development of high school and middle school students

His work with youth of his community has earned him awards such as the Priority Children Roy E. Peterson Caring Adult Award and the Martin Luther King Drum Major Award.  Your faculty will love him; your parents will appreciate him. Your Students will never forget him. If you want to impact your student body “The Big O” is your man.
